Our Christmas with Dorián

Corporate social responsibility is one of the core elements of our business philosophy. Through AMADEUS Artistic Foundation we have been continually supporting young artists at the start of their career for years. However, simultaneously with the expansion of our company structure we thought it was time to step up our social exposure and to branch out our sponsorship activities that have so far involved contemporary art to other socially important and useful areas. As a first step of this change of paradigm ECOVIS HUNGARY devoted Christmas of 2015 to 18-year-old Dorián Kónya.

Dorian has been suffering since his birth from Werdnig-Hoffmann syndrome, an incurable disease that makes him totally bedridden. All he can move is one single finger on his left hand, so the use of his computer, his only connection to the outside world, is becoming more and more difficult. To make his everyday life easier we joined our efforts and bought him a special computer interface that enables him to control his computer without his hand, using his eyes only. We wish to say thank you to Tobii, the Swedish manufacturer and to the Hungarian distributor, Kapcsol-AT Asszisztív Technológiák Kft. for their active participation in our initiative and for the discount they offered from the price of the device which helped to make Dorian’s days brighter and easier.
