Dr. Krisztina Tóth LL.M.

Dr. Krisztina Tóth is a highly experienced attorney with a comprehensive and interdisciplinary background in data protection, litigation, compliance, corporate legal advisory, and administrative procedures. With more than a decade of professional experience in both the private and public sectors, she has gained broad and versatile expertise, representing numerous individuals and businesses in both litigious and non-litigious matters.

She began her higher education with undergraduate studies in public administration at Corvinus University of Budapest. She obtained her law degree and a postgraduate specialization in tax law from Eötvös Loránd University and completed her bar exam in 2015.

She first gained professional experience in public administration, then in the private sector and at a law firm. Following her bar exam, she worked as a compliance expert at Erste Bank, where she conducted conflict-of-interest assessments, developed the gift policy, managed internal monitoring processes, and handled the application of sector-specific financial regulations. As in-house counsel and Data Protection Officer of METRO Kereskedelmi Kft., she was responsible for managing the company’s full GDPR compliance program. In addition to data protection, she dealt with litigation matters, consumer protection issues, marketing and advertising law, contract drafting, and the professional supervision of junior legal staff.

Since 2019, she has been running her own legal practice, providing full-scope legal services to both private clients and businesses. Her practice focuses on litigation, including damages claims, actions for termination of joint ownership, and administrative lawsuits, as well as non-litigious proceedings, probate matters, real estate law, corporate law, and liquidation procedures. She also advises on data protection compliance, represents data controllers and data subjects in administrative procedures, and has substantial experience in GDPR implementation projects, data inventories, impact assessments, and the drafting of data protection documentation. She additionally acts as a compliance officer and whistleblower protection attorney.

She is a member of the Budapest Bar Association and the Hungarian Corporate Compliance Society and also serves as a .hu panelist at the Council of Internet Service Providers. In 2024, she obtained mediator certification.

She works in both Hungarian and English.
