Team building on the Danube

On the occasion of this year’s team building we went to György Kolonics Watersport Center located at the Bridge Gubacsi where we took the water.

We often say that “we are all in the same boat” when it comes to solving daily tasks in the cooperation of experts from various areas but this time we physically carried it out. For the first time in our office’s history we “lost ground” and we placed our trust in the Danube, (dragon)canoes and professional trainers.

We can praise our colleague Dániel Kaltenecker’s canoeing background for organizing this event where he asked for the assistance of canoeing trainer Dániel Schmidt and former training partner Yam Eldar to be steersmen.

Two teams were randomly selected out of the colleagues who got in two big (dragon)canoes and at the end of a 9 km long training, we learnt how to paddle in synchrony. We competed downwards and upwards on the water race course designated by piles at Csepel and finally everyone crossed the finish line smiling and deserving the symbolic prizes. Goulash, beef stew and refresher awaited us who got tired in the unusual sport experience and in the heat.

The training had good atmosphere to work together; we practiced on unfamiliar ground how to reach a common aim in synchrony. Without prior experience and extraordinary physical training, we had a sense of achievement in a short time, with huge laughs and many funny moments. We are thankful for the fantastic organization and support and also for the great location and the tasty lunch.
