An Objective Explanation to the Overtime Act

Most people know only certain parts of the new law popularly called as the “overtime act” or “slave act” which was interpreted in the media in various ways. However, an objective explanation of the facts is still missing – in our new article we are trying to fill this gap: independent assessment of the law from the prospective of a lawyer.

The “overtime act” entered into force on the 1st of January, 2019 is an amendment to the Labor Code which covers two important areas: maximum of the overtime and framework of working time banking.

But what is a framework of working time banking at all and how can be a maximum of 400 hours overtime ordered? Why is it rather an exception that overtime needs to be paid to the workers in 3 years?

Once the concepts are understood and their essence is clarified, the timing of the payment of overtime is easy to follow.
