New obligation for economic entities: contact point for electronic communication

January 31, 2017

According to the latest changes, economic entities have to register their “contact point for electronic communication” to the Disposition Register. Companies may fulfil this obligation by registering this contact point for electronic communication to the company register.

The deadline for the registration is August 30, 2017. However, as the act mentions economic entities, the new rules of the registration to the Disposition Register not only apply for business entities but for law firms/offices of notary public and private operators, etc.

A contact point for electronic communication, or in other words a company gate, is established for electronic communication with official bodies.

The appointed NISZ Zrt. provides free of charge for each economic entity an online storage up to 300 MB which functions as company gate. Furthermore, NISZ Zrt. notifies company courts of the address to the storage as contact point for electronic communication.

The latest amendment of the Act on Companies prescribes that companies have to register their “contact point for electronic communication” in the company register from January 1, 2018.
