Péter Kardos

He is graduated as an economist specialized on accounting at the Budapest University of Economics. He is a chartered and certified auditor and a tax expert. He started his carrier at the Accounting Department of the Hungarian Ministry of Finance .After spending five years there he built up and led the tax consulting division at a smaller Hungarian audit firm. Afterwards he joined the Swiss-Hungarian owned ABT Treuhand Group, where he spent 8 years and led the tax consulting division for 6 years, firstly as Head of Tax, then as a Tax Partner. From the Summer of 2017 he is partner at Ecovis Tax Solution.

He gained his experience in supporting medium sized and large international companies in tax and accounting issues connected to their Hungarian activity. Peter provides complex tax solutions based on his wide accounting knowledge, mainly in the producing and trading sector. Peter also took part in several company restructuring,  due diligences, M&A projects. He carries out his consulting work in English, German and Hungarian.

Beyond the work of consulting he is the author of several articles and books, and is the co-writer of the yearly published Great Handbook of Accounting, he is member of the editor board of the Accounting Advisory  journal   (published by Wolters Kluwer) since 7 years, from its foundation, he provides lectures on accounting and tax issues. He is a member of the National Accounting Board, that is a professional supporting body on accounting of the Hungarian Minister of National Economy, working on developing the theory and the methodology of accounting and its legislation, its board members are appointed by the minister.
